Akaka Line is a style of fishing that consists of one long main line to which other lines are connected approximately every 10 yards. Each of the lines have a bobber and bait.

The main line is usually an 80 pound tester and the connected lines that hang

from it are 20 pound testers. Bobbers are clipped to each. The floater is typically a milk or clorox container.

To set the line there is an anchor on one side of the main rope and at the other end of the line is a large lead ball. There are 10 yards between each floater and the main rope hangs about 10 feet below the surface. The typical bait used on an akaka line is squid to catch papio (young ulua).
