'Emoloa or Kawelu Eragrostis variabilis This is an endemic and perennial bunch grass. It can grow from1 - 2 1/2 feet tall and the upper blades usually grow another 1 1/2 feet. The grass can gros in sand dunes, open sites in dry forests and exposed slopes, ridges and cliffs. It is mentioned in the songs about the Nu'uanu Pali.
