Description • This shrimp has a red and white body with large pinchers and long white antennaes. It has many hooked spines on its body and legs. The females are larger than the males. The female protects her babies with her pinchers. The eggs are light greenish blue and are found on the female's abdomen. The male shrimp will hunt for food and help take care of the female and protect her from intruders. Most are active at night.

Habitat •
The banded coral shrimp lives in coral hedges.

Diet • In the wild it is a savenger. It is a meat eater and likes to eat little fish or eat off of the seaweed.
