Did you know the side of the Flounder that faces up, takes on the color of the bottom of the ocean?

Bothus Mancus

Description • The Flounder is pale to light brown with spots and blue blotches. It has three unequal dark blotches in a row on the eye side with the one nearest the tail being the smallest. The flounder has both eyes on the left side of the body. They camouflage themselves at the bottom of the ocean. When it grows to be half an inch it flattens and both eyes apear on one side.

Habitat •
Only large species in shallow water in Hawaii, but different types in the deep water.

Diet •
The Flounder eats shrimp and small fishes.
