Description These fishes are usually found in pairs and are about 6" in length. Just recently it was discovered that there were two different species and that this fish once called the Chaetodon trifasciatus was restricted to the Indian Ocean. the species in the Pacific is now called Chaetodon lunulatus. Description The Long Nose Butterfly Fish's snout is very long and skinny. It can grow up to 8 inches. Its body is yellow, the nape and upper half of its head are black, its thorax and lower half is white. It also has a huge dot on its lower fin. Its Hawaiian name translates to leaf of the wiliwili tree with a long or sharp nose. | |||||
