Description The Hammerhead shark has a wide rectangular shaped head with it's eyes on the sides of the head. They have teeth that are triangular with serrated edges. This shark is a grey-brown above with an off-white belly. The first dorsal fin which is the large fin on top of the shark, is very large and pointed. Hammerhead sharks can average in sizes 5 to 7 feet but may grow up to 15 feet in length. Habitat Hammerhead sharks live in reefs and warm water along coastlines. They often visit cleaning stations in the reef to allow cleaning wrasses to pick parasites from their skin and inside their mouths. They are known to spend most of the day closer inshore and move offshore in search of prey at night. Diet . Hammerhead Sharks have a keen sense of smell and feed upon fish, rays, squid, octopus, crustaceans, and even other sharks!
