Description • This is one of the most frequently seen anenome in Hawaiian waters. It can be one of the most colorful with tentacles that range from yellow, pink, orange at the tips. The animal has a broad base which attaches to the shell of a variety of hermit crab species. It is most commonly seen on the Jeweled Anenome Crab. Pink threads are expelled from the white bumps on the base when the anenome is disturbed. The thread entangle and sting potential predators.

Habitat • Found in coral reefs this anenome is widely distributed.

Diet •. Mollusks, tube worms, and algae. Also the hermit crab may give the anemone some of its own meal!
