Description One of the most common shallow water cowries the Snakehead is a small solid brown dome-shaped shell with white spots. It can grow 1.5 inches in length. In old Hawaiii these shells were used for making bracelets. Habitat Found in cracks in boulders and under loose rocks in shallow tropical waters. Diet . The Snakedhead Cowry emerges at night to graze on algae.
