Snakehead Cowrie or Leho Kupa
Cypraea caputserpentis

Description • One of the most common shallow water cowries the Snakehead is a small solid brown dome-shaped shell with white spots. It can grow 1.5 inches in length. In old Hawaiii these shells were used for making bracelets.

Habitat • Found in cracks in boulders and under loose rocks in shallow tropical waters.

Diet •. The Snakedhead Cowry emerges at night to graze on algae.
