Spiny Lobster or Ula
Panulirus marginatus

Description • The Spinylobster is mostly light yellow with some spots that are maroon. It has small claws and long antennas. Sharp spines cover their antennas and upper body which they use for defense. Spiny lobsters grow to 16 inches in length. They must shed their skeleton periodically to grow.

Habitat • They live deep within caves and reef crevices and sometimes found under bridges.

Diet • Spiny Lobsters eat reef invertebrates and animal carrion. When in their larva state, they eat plankton.
