Description The interior mantle tissue produces this beautiful large spotted dome-shaped shell. The two folds of the mantle tissue extend outside the shell which keeps it clean and polished, and prevents organisms from causing damage to the surface. The cowry grows 4-6 inches in length. They are most active at night and hide themselves in crevices during the day. Cowries are like snails and have a developed head with eyes and tentacles and a mouth tube. | |||||
