Sunbathing & Relaxtion
A survey by windward students indicates that most visitors to the beach come to relax and swim.

Walking, Jogging & Excercise
The 100 foot average width of Kailua Bay white sand shoreline is great for walking and excercise. The stretch of beach is 2 miles long from Alala Point to Kapoho Point. It is easier to walk on the sand at low tide and near the edge of the water line because it is firm and packed.

Kite Surfing
Onshore winds are great for both the novice and beginner and the reef protected bay of white sands make for safe conditions. However, high winds bring out the professionals to this location.

Windsurfing
Kailua resident Robbie Naish helped to bring national attention to the sport of windsurfing and it often referred to as the windsurfing ambassador. The conditions in the bay are perfect for the beginner however when the winds are up professionals come to this windsurfing capital.
