|  | | Ka'elepulu Stream The lower portion of Ka'elepulu Stream ends at the shores of Kailua Bay, however the mouth of the stream is often closed to the bay by a a sand bar. The City and County of Honolulu periodically perform stream openings or it naturally occurs during periods of heavy runoff in the Ka'elepulu watershed.
The lower portion of the stream close to Kailua Bay is used for recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, canoe paddling and swimming especially when the sand bar is breached. | |
