Pathways
Surface water from Kawai Nui Marsh empties in at the head of Oneawa Canal. Along the concrete channels several storm drains carrying runoff and associated pollutants from nearby residential areas. The surface water from the canal empties into Kailua Bay. The tidal mixing creates an estuarine environment fo r a portion of the canal near the bay.
